How the generator works
Pick the niche that is closest to your account. Below the box you get a curated set of 12 hashtags that are commonly used in that niche on TikTok, and the first 6 go into the box. Click a tag to add it to the box or take it out, or edit the box by hand, for example to add your own brand or series tag. The counter shows how many tags are in the box and warns you when a hand edit goes over 6.
When AI suggestions are switched on, you can also describe the video in a sentence. The AI suggests 3 to 6 tags that fit that specific topic. They are added to the top of the set without duplicates and fill the box. AI suggestions are a draft: read them before posting, because a tag can carry a meaning you did not expect.
Choosing hashtags that fit
Treat hashtags as labels for the video, not as a way to reach everybody. A short set where every tag fits says more than a long block. A useful set usually mixes three kinds of tags:
- One broad tag that describes the topic, such as #travel or #fitness.
- One or two community or specific tags that say what this video is, such as #gymtok or #homeworkout.
- Your own tag: a brand, series or campaign tag your viewers already know.
Before you reuse a tag, open it on TikTok and look at the recent videos. If they have nothing to do with yours, leave it out. Rotate your sets rather than pasting the same block on every video, so each one carries tags that actually match it.
Save time on every video
Hashtags are one small step of publishing. In PostBoost you can save hashtag groups, write the caption once and schedule the video to TikTok and your other networks from one place.
