How we picked

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets an AI client call a product's tools directly. We list servers from social media products alphabetically, not ranked, and compared:

  • Is it hosted, or do you run it yourself?
  • How it authenticates: OAuth sign-in, or a pasted API key/token
  • Which plans include it, and whether there is a free plan
  • Directory listings (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, the official MCP Registry)

FAQ

What is a social media MCP server?

A server that speaks the Model Context Protocol so an AI client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI and others) can list your social accounts, draft and schedule posts, and check results by calling tools, without custom code.

OAuth or API key: which is better?

OAuth lets you sign in from the AI client without copying a secret, and some directories require it. An API key or token works in every client that supports custom headers and is easy to revoke. PostBoost uses tokens today; OAuth is in progress.

Which social media MCP servers work on a free plan?

Among those listed: PostBoost, Buffer, Zernio, Upload-Post and SocialAPI.ai have free plans that include MCP or API access, with different limits. Blotato excludes MCP from its trial.
