X (Twitter) Policy

X charges for every post created through its API, and about 13 times more for a post with a link. To keep plans flat-priced, each plan includes a monthly X allowance. Every other network is unaffected.

Monthly allowance

PlanX posts per monthof which with a link

  • Each part of a thread is one X post. A part that contains a link (including a bare domain such as example.com) is also a link post.
  • A post sent to two X accounts counts twice.
  • The allowance resets on the 1st of every month (UTC).
  • X analytics ranges are limited by plan, because X also bills reads.

At the limit

  • Scheduling a post to X through the API is refused with 429 and code: x_monthly_cap_reached. In the dashboard, scheduling shows a "Monthly X allowance reached" dialog.
  • X posts that come due after the allowance is used up fail with the message "Monthly X allowance reached" (and the post.publishing_failed webhook). A thread that has already started publishing always finishes.
  • Your other networks keep publishing normally.

Check your usage

  • Dashboard: https://postboost.co/app/<workspace uuid>/x-usage
  • API: GET /{workspaceUuid}/usage/x
  • Email: workspace admins get an email when the workspace has used 80% and again at 100% of either allowance (once each per month).
