# TikTok hashtag generator

Start from a curated TikTok hashtag set for your niche, keep the few tags that describe this exact video, and copy them in one click.

## How the generator works

Pick the niche that is closest to your account. Below the box you get a curated set of 12 hashtags that are commonly used in that niche on TikTok, and the first 6 go into the box. Click a tag to add it to the box or take it out, or edit the box by hand, for example to add your own brand or series tag. The counter shows how many tags are in the box and warns you when a hand edit goes over 6.

When AI suggestions are switched on, you can also describe the video in a sentence. The AI suggests 3 to 6 tags that fit that specific topic. They are added to the top of the set without duplicates and fill the box. AI suggestions are a draft: read them before posting, because a tag can carry a meaning you did not expect.

## Choosing hashtags that fit

Treat hashtags as labels for the video, not as a way to reach everybody. A short set where every tag fits says more than a long block. A useful set usually mixes three kinds of tags:

- One broad tag that describes the topic, such as #travel or #fitness.
- One or two community or specific tags that say what this video is, such as #gymtok or #homeworkout.
- Your own tag: a brand, series or campaign tag your viewers already know.

Before you reuse a tag, open it on TikTok and look at the recent videos. If they have nothing to do with yours, leave it out. Rotate your sets rather than pasting the same block on every video, so each one carries tags that actually match it.

## Save time on every video

Hashtags are one small step of publishing. In PostBoost you can save hashtag groups, write the caption once and schedule the video to TikTok and your other networks from one place.

## How to use

1. Pick the niche closest to your account.
2. Keep the first 6 tags, or click tags in the set to swap them in and out of the box.
3. When AI suggestions are on, describe the video and add tags for that topic.
4. Remove tags that do not describe the video, then copy them into your caption.

## FAQ

### How many hashtags should a TikTok video have?

A few that describe the video. Hashtags count toward TikTok's 2,200-character caption, and a short, accurate set is easier to read than a long block. The box keeps up to 6 tags, and the AI suggests 3 to 6.

### Where do the hashtag sets come from?

The niche sets are written by the PostBoost team from hashtags commonly used in each niche on TikTok, including the community tags that end in tok. They are a starting point, not a promise of views. Check a tag on TikTok before you rely on it.

### What do the AI suggestions add?

When the AI part is switched on, it reads your topic and suggests 3 to 6 tags that fit that video. They go to the top of the set and fill the box. AI suggestions can be wrong, so review them before posting.

### Should I use broad tags or niche tags?

Mix them. One broad tag says what the video is about, and one or two specific tags say what this video is. Tags that do not describe the video make it harder to understand, not easier to find.

### Do hashtags count toward the caption length?

Yes. They are part of the caption text, so a long block of tags leaves less room for the caption itself. The TikTok caption generator writes captions that stay within the limit.

### Is what I type stored?

Picking a niche and editing the set happens in your browser. If you use AI suggestions, the topic is sent to PostBoost and our AI provider to generate tags; the result is cached so the same request is not generated twice.
