# Social media content calendar generator

Pick your networks, how often you post on each and at what time, add a few content themes, and get a ready week-by-week content calendar. Download it as a CSV for your spreadsheet or as a calendar file for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar. No signup and no email.

## How the calendar is built

Each week starts on the weekday of your start date. For every network you tick, the generator spreads that network's posts per week as evenly as the seven days allow and puts each post at the time you set. When two networks post on the same day, the earlier time comes first. Your content pillars then rotate over all posts in date order, so with "Tips, Product" the first post is a tip, the second a product post, and so on.

## Using the files

The CSV has one row per post and an empty Idea column, ready to share with your team or to fill in during a planning session. The .ics file adds every post to your calendar as a short reminder at its planned time. The times are floating local times: a post planned for 10:00 shows at 10:00 wherever you open the calendar.

## From plan to scheduled posts

A calendar only helps if the posts go out on time. Once the ideas are written, schedule them in PostBoost: one composer for all your networks, a calendar view of everything that is planned, and posting queues that keep the rhythm you chose here.

## How to use

1. Choose the start date and how many weeks to plan (1 to 12).
2. Tick your networks and set posts per week and a posting time for each.
3. Add up to 6 content pillars, separated by commas, if you want themes.
4. Check the plan in the table below the form.
5. Download the CSV for a spreadsheet or the .ics file for your calendar app.

## FAQ

### How does the generator spread my posts over the week?

Evenly, from the start date. Three posts a week land on days 1, 3 and 5 (Monday, Wednesday and Friday when you start on a Monday), two land on days 1 and 4, and seven give one post every day. Above seven a week, the second post of a day goes three hours after the first, or three hours before it when later would pass midnight.

### What are content pillars?

The few themes your posts come back to, such as tips, product news, customer stories or behind the scenes. The generator rotates them over your posts in date order, so each theme gets its turn and no week leans on one topic.

### Can I open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. The file is UTF-8 with a byte order mark, so Excel keeps accents and emoji intact, and Google Sheets imports it directly. The columns are Date, Day, Time, Network, Pillar and an empty Idea column for you to fill in.

### How do I add the calendar to Google Calendar?

Download the .ics file, open Google Calendar on the web, go to Settings, Import and export, and import the file into the calendar you want. Each post is a 15-minute event at the time you chose, in your own time zone. Outlook and Apple Calendar open the same file.

### How often should I post on each network?

There is no single right number. Pick a rhythm you can keep for the whole calendar: a steady three posts a week usually beats a busy first week and silence after it. The best time to post tool shows which weekdays and hours the big studies found strongest.

### Is my plan sent anywhere?

No. The generator runs in your browser: the table, the CSV and the calendar file are all made on your device, and nothing you type is sent to PostBoost.
