# Instagram font generator: copy and paste fancy text

## The styles

Bold, italic, bold italic, sans bold, sans italic, script, bold script, fraktur, double-struck, monospace, small caps, circled, squared, upside down and strikethrough. Bold, sans bold, double-struck, monospace and circled also have their own digits. Upside down text is reversed so it reads correctly when the screen is turned around.

## Use it as an accent

A styled name or a one-line heading in a bio catches the eye. A whole caption in script is hard to read, and people who use screen readers may not be able to read it at all. Keep the message, hashtags and links in plain text and style one or two words.

## Check before you paste

Look at the result on the device your audience uses. A style that looks clean on a phone can show empty boxes on an older computer when its fonts lack the character. Apps also change their rules: a field that accepts styled letters today may strip them after an update. If a style shows boxes, pick a simpler one such as bold or sans bold, which most systems display.

### How do fancy fonts work on Instagram?

They are not fonts. Each letter is swapped for a Unicode character that looks like a bold, italic or script letter, so the style survives copy and paste into apps that do not let you choose a font.

### Why do some letters or numbers stay plain?

Unicode does not have every letter in every style. Letters with no look-alike, such as accented letters like ğ or é, and punctuation pass through unchanged. Several styles have no digits.

### Are fancy fonts bad for accessibility?

They can be. Screen readers may read styled letters as their Unicode names or skip them, and some fields strip them. Use them for short accents such as a name or a heading, not whole posts.

### Will fancy text hurt my reach or search?

Search inside apps may not match styled letters to normal words, so keep keywords, hashtags and handles in plain text.

### Where can I use the copied text?

Most places that accept Unicode: Instagram bios and captions, X, Threads, LinkedIn, TikTok and messaging apps. A few username and form fields refuse it.
