# Schedule X posts and threads.

Write a single post or a full thread, schedule it for the right time and let PostBoost publish it in order.

## What you can post to X

- **Post**: Up to 280 characters (25,000 for verified accounts), with up to 4 photos, one video or one GIF.
- **Thread**: Add parts to a post and they publish as replies, in order.

## Why teams schedule X with PostBoost

- **One calendar for every channel**: See X next to your other 14 channels and move posts when plans change.
- **One post, a version per network**: Write once, then adjust the text for X without copying the post.
- **Know when a post fails**: If X rejects a post, you see why and can retry it once it is fixed. A webhook can tell your code too.
- **Threads without copy and paste**: Split a long post into parts and PostBoost publishes the whole thread at the scheduled time.

## Connect X in three steps

1. **Open Accounts**: Go to Accounts and choose Connect account, then X.
2. **Sign in to X**: Approve PostBoost on X. Your account appears in the composer.
3. **Write and schedule**: Write a post or a thread, pick a time or add it to the queue.

## Post to X from your AI agent or your code

Ask your agent: "Turn this blog post into a 5-part X thread and schedule it for tomorrow at 9:00." (MCP tools: `count-characters`, `create-post`, `schedule-post`). Not connected yet? Ask your agent to connect X: it sends you a one-time sign-in link that works for 15 minutes.

API: `createPost` (https://postboost.co/docs/api/create-post/)

```bash
curl -X POST https://postboost.co/app/api/{workspaceUuid}/posts \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"accounts": [12], "queue": true, "versions": [{"account_id": 0, "is_original": true, "content": [{"body": "Our API 1.8 is live."}]}]}'
```

## Good to know

- Photos and videos cannot be mixed in one X post.
- X has no first comment. Use a reply in the thread instead.

### Can I post more than 280 characters?

Yes, if your X account is verified: verified accounts can post up to 25,000 characters. Other accounts have the 280-character limit.

### Can I connect X on the Free plan?

Yes. Every plan can connect X. The Free plan includes 3 social accounts and 3 scheduled posts. Paid plans start at $29 a month with a 14-day free trial.

### Can my AI agent post to X?

Yes. Connect PostBoost to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client, then ask it to write or schedule a X post. Posts stay drafts until you or the agent schedule them.
